This group takes place at Headway Glasgow .
The Groups meet on Mondays and are regularly attended by around 20-40 people. In these social activity groups people can have a cup of tea or coffee, have a chat and take part in activities. The benefits of partaking in group activities help rebuild and stimulate cognitive skills such as memory, use of numbers and reading, concentration and solving problems. Group activities help to reduce social isolation and improves the individual’s emotional well-being. It is an opportunity to meet friends who may have common interests and may understand a bit of what you have been through.
We often have quizzes, board games such as the Logo Quiz and Shout, card games and games of pool. People can attend one or both of the sessions. A group worker is supported by regular volunteers in helping to run these groups.
We have regular speakers on a variety of topics, for example, benefits, lecturers from any of the universities, local organisations and community planning. We continue to actively seek direction from members for new activities, visits and outings.
If you think you’d like to attend and haven’t been to Headway before – contact us on 0141 332 8878, email on info@headwayglasgow.org or use our Get-in-touch form in the Contacts section.
