Support Gerald Heffernan to walk the West Highland Way

Gerald has been planning to walk the west highland way for a while now and as restrictions have eased he will finally embark on the journey from June 20th to June 26th.

Gerald is kindly fundraising for Headway Glasgow and if you are able to contribute, it would great if you could help Gerald meet his £250 target. You will also have the option to leave a gift aid to further boost our donations and help us to continue supporting our members.

Did you know that a Glaswegian first secured approval to build the route in 1974? His name was Tom Hunter and the route officially opened in 1980. Since then, it has become popular with international travellers – go far and wide and mention the ‘West Highland Way’ and many people from countries throughout the world are familiar with it or have it on their bucket list!

The route has even appeared in movies such as Braveheart, Trainspotting, Harry Potter and Rob Roy.

We want to wish Gerald all our good luck. We hope the sun stays shining for him throughout the week now that it has finally appeared…
