About Us

Headway Glasgow

We are a group of people with an acquired brain injury, families, carers, friends, staff and volunteers who aim to provide information and support for people with an acquired brain injury (ABI).

Bob Bogle our Operations Manager now manages Headway Glasgow and is supported by Gwen our Administrator. Group workers run some of our activities such as the Art Group and the Writers’ Group and we have the help of many volunteers who act as members and officers of the Board, assist with group activities and act as fund-raisers and advisers.

“…everybody does accept each other”

Our Board has overall responsibility for Headway Glasgow and are all volunteers who freely give their time and talents in support of Headway Glasgow.

As a charity Headway Glasgow is reliant on a variety of sources for our income. Much of our income comes in the form of grants, some to support our general running costs and some for specific projects. We also rely heavily on large and small donations and the hard work that many of our supporters put into fundraising. Any direct donations or fundraising activities are therefore extremely welcome and are used very carefully to support our activities – you can read more about fundraising here.

Headway Glasgow provides a unique brain injury service in Glasgow and offers long term peer support through a user-led service.

We work in partnership with many NHS services to support together people affected by Brain Injury – this is our manager Bob on a recent visit to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s Community Treatment Centre for Brain Injury…
